No doubt you are planning to enjoy a fantastic Christmas dinner! Here at Palm Springs Carpet Cleaning we hope that all of our customers had an excellent holiday season. If you hosted Christmas lunch or dinner you are probably hoping for a nice little break after all of your company has left your home. But you may be disappointed or frustrated to find that you have some Christmas food stains on your carpet. Today we are going to tell you what you can do to get some of those stains out!
How to Remove Chicken or Turkey Gravy from Carpet
One of the stains that may be on your carpet could be caused from spilled gravy. Your guests can get crazy when they are covering their turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy and spill some of the delicious gravy on the floor. We recommend that first you get a spoon and try to get as much of the gravy off of your carpet as possible right when it happens. Unfortunately we do not always catch the spill right when it happens. If the gravy is already dried on you will want to get some vinegar and water. Make a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water and put it in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on the stained area. Allow it to sit on the stain for 10 minutes. Then grab a clean towel and blot the stained area. Make sure that you do not rub the area. Rubbing the stain will only put the stain further into the fibers of your carpet. Repeat this 2-3 times as needed.
Removing Cranberry Sauce Stains from Carpet
Seeing red cranberry sauce on your carpet can bring up feelings of despair. Most people just assume they cannot get that out. We recommend that you get some liquid dish soap. Mix one tablespoon of the liquid dish soap with two cups of cool water. Use a clean white cotton cloth to sponge the mixture onto the stained area. Keep blotting until the liquid is absorbed into the stain. Then continue blotting until the stain disappears. You may need to add some more of the liquid mixture to the stained area. This method should get the cranberry sauce out of your carpet.
How to Remove Pumpkin Pie Stains from Carpet
No Christmas dinner would be complete without some pumpkin pie. If you find pumpkin pie on your carpet you will want to try and remove as much as you can with your hand first. Then you will want to use the same liquid dish soap and water method that we mentioned above for the cranberry sauce stain. If that does not work get some ammonia. Mix one tablespoon of ammonia with 2 cups of warm water. Do not use this method if you have silk or wool carpets. Then you will want to blot the ammonia and water mixture onto the stained area and blot it until the stain disappears.
